Fr. Duffy, your catechesis and discourse on the 6th Beatitude, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is comprehensively educative and informative. You made everything simplified and biblical adrem to the minds and hearts of every Christian. Everything is really Grace as you reflected. Pure in heart can resonate with those who practice Matt’s Gospel 25ff.Sound like your memoir, You duped me O Lord. Thanx!

Yes, indeed, Bartholomew, the theme of this blog resonates with my memoir where even bad experiences can be opportunities of grace.

No one has applied the call for “purity of heart” with more scope & penetration than Kierkegaard, the Christian founder of modern psychology. Which is why I ended my review, published last month, of Father Duffy’s memoir with its reference.”For Kierkegaard this was an existential summons addressed to the single individual, not an assurance that the church itself could be reformed.

Yet that very summons frames the book’s hope: Renewal begins nowhere else but in the purified intention of each believer.”

Bartholomew Okere also drew the comparison between my book and purity of heart. Thanks for your comments, Heath, and for your review of my book.

Hello Father, I thoroughly enjoyed this beatitude and the Dostoevsky reference in the video!

Great artists, like Dostoyevsky, have a magnificent capacity, Alex, to enter into the depths of human consciousness, revealing truths hidden to the wise and the clever.
