Fr. Duffy, your catechesis and discourse on the word of Christ-“Follow Me” cut across many theological, anthropological and spiritual dimensions.Talking about how Vt 11 evolved from Tridentine concepts of tradition to Jesus commands on love of God and neighbor as the ultimate religion and vocation. Though, your reflection may be hard to comprehend, but you made it clear to all and sundry to love.

    Beautiful, Father. Thank you.
There seems to be leadership going on in my community convincing people to go back to the communion rail with Eucharistic reception on tongue rather than hand. It seems they believe this
“traditional way” is a more honorable, sacred recognition of the presence of our lord Jesus.
My concern is these pre Vatican 2 traditions including Latin Mass creates division.

Your fears that a return to pre-Vatican 2 practices are creating division in the Church are well founded, Patricia. What we all need to focus on is following Christ whether we lean towards traditional or pastoral practices. Putting on Christ, as St. Paul explains, is what being a Christian is all about. The Lord had to contend with His critics who rejected Him in favor of their traditions.

First off I would like to say wonderful blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my
ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying

I don’t know if I can answer your question about writing. I write every day in my journal, letting my thoughts and feelings flow naturally. Then, if I decide to publish or post my writings, I edit them with the head. In other words, write from the heart and edit from the head. As for my blogs, the topics I write about are deeply felt and experienced.
