Merry Christmas! Have you ever wondered what the word Christmas means?

It’s a combination of two words: Christ and the Mass. What happened in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago is not something that only happened in the past because Christ can come into your life anytime. He can come into your life when you receive Him in the Eucharist and when you follow His example. Christmas is a living experience. Jesus wants to come into our lives and the way that happens is by doing the things that He taught us. He gave us a new Commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” Whenever we treat other people with compassion, with kindness, with patience, with love, we see Christ in each other. Wherever you go, and wherever you are, you can do this.

Christ has the power to elevate our thoughts, our words and our deeds if we only follow His example of loving one another they way He loved us. This is the meaning of Christmas. May we have the kind of Christmas that we will be able to see Christ in everyone we come in contact with and by the way we treat one another. Christmas is every day and for everyone.Have a Merry Christmas.
