Thank you Fr. Hugh for taking the time to demistify this Parable. For me, it has been unclear and most probably misinterpreted each time I read it or hear it read out at Mass. Your explanation has helped me understand it clearer and not to feel the need to zone myself into any one of the three categories identified in the Parable, but to be simply aware of my need to do the best I can to others.

Fr. Duffy, you really amplified and catechized the true meaning of the Parable of the Sower to an averaged Christian listener. The problem isn’t the seed nor the sower, but the soil that receives different kind of seeds and produces different results.Abiding and surrendering all to Jesus will make us produce fruits of 100, 60 and 30.The Church and society have lot to learn from you reflection. Tx!
